Emergency Fund
Stand with communities affected by the Tanahu Hydropower Project
Communities impacted by the Tanahu Hydropower Project are facing displacement, loss of livelihoods, and ongoing financial hardship as a result of a project imposed on their land.
Affected community members have filed a formal complaint with the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) accountability mechanism, seeking redress for project-related harms. While this case is ongoing, accountability processes are slow and provide no immediate relief. Families continue to bear the costs of harm while waiting for justice.
Justice delayed is harm prolonged. This Community Emergency Fund provides urgent, people-centered support for basic needs—food, healthcare, transport, and temporary shelter—while communities pursue accountability.
This is not charity. It is solidarity.
Support communities demanding justice. Give what you can and share widely.
WHO WILL RECEIVE THE SUPPORT
-
Depending on the amount of donation that will be gathered, NGO Forum on ADB will prioritize supporting 1) project-affected communities affected by ADB and/or active AIIB projects; and 2) local partners of the Forum who are also doing their respective COVID - 19 quick response (e.g. conducting food drive, providing transportation services to healthcare workers, etc.).
-
The Forum will course through the said monetary support to partner CSOs. The amount to be donated to the partner CSOs will also vary on the scope and/or a number of households affected.
-
The said monetary support will be for quick response to help alleviate the impacts of COVID - 19 to our partner communities. This support will be used to purchase face masks, soap, alcohol, sanitizer or food packs.
-
The partner CSO will prepare 1 - page report of the support detailing what was purchased out of the amount given, how many households were reached by the said support and other incidental costs that were used (e.g. transportation, etc.)
Your support is greatly appreciated in responding to the urgent needs of communities affected by ADB-financed projects.
